Welcome to SoloSafe. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SoloSafe Android application ("the App"). By using SoloSafe, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our automated emergency alert services, SoloSafe requires access to specific personal and device information.

A. Personal Information You Provide

Account Data: When you register, we collect your Full Name, Email Address, City, Country, and a secure Password.
Emergency Contacts: You provide the phone numbers of up to three (3) emergency contacts. We only use these numbers to dispatch SMS alerts when your safety timers expire. We do not use these numbers for marketing.

B. Sensitive Device & Permission Data

SoloSafe acts as an automated "dead man's switch" and requires special Android permissions to verify you are safe:

            Background Location Data: SoloSafe collects your location data (GPS coordinates) even when the app is closed or not in use. This data is strictly used to append a "Last Known Location" map link to the emergency SMS sent to your contacts if you fail to check in.
App Usage & Device Activity (UsageStats): SoloSafe queries your device's UsageStatsManager to determine the exact timestamp your phone screen was last unlocked or used. We do not track which apps you use, only the time of your last interaction to reset your "Unlock Alert" timer.
Battery & Charging Status: The App monitors your hardware to detect if the device is plugged into a charger to reset your "Charger Alert" timer.
Device Identifiers: We collect your unique hardware ID (ANDROID_ID) to bind your subscription to a single physical device for security and anti-fraud purposes.

        

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data strictly for the core functionality of the App:

To maintain a continuous background "heartbeat" to ensure your safety.
To automatically trigger an emergency SMS to your designated contacts if your safety timers expire.
To manage your premium subscription status via Google Play Billing.
To prevent unauthorized access by binding your account to your specific device.

3. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We utilize enterprise-grade third-party services exclusively to facilitate the App’s infrastructure:

Google Play Billing: Used to process your subscription securely. We do not have access to your credit card details.
Google Firebase & Firestore: Used for secure database hosting, user authentication, and encrypted data storage.
Telecommunication APIs: Our backend servers securely route your emergency SMS messages to local and global telecom providers.

4. Data Security

We implement bank-level security measures to protect your data. Your GPS coordinates and emergency contacts are encrypted and stored securely using Google Firebase. Furthermore, our database is protected by strict Firestore Security Rules, ensuring that only your authenticated device and our backend emergency servers can read or update your safety timers.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription or delete your account, your safety timers will be immediately disabled.

How to Request Data Deletion:
You have the right to request the complete deletion of your personal data, emergency contacts, and location history. You can delete your account directly inside the SoloSafe app Settings menu, or by contacting our support team at support@poweredly.com.

6. Children's Privacy

SoloSafe is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our servers.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
